California Administrative Code, Section 420, title 5 allows the student to be absent from school for the following reasons: illness, quarantine, having medical, dental or optometrical services rendered and attending funeral services rendered and attending funeral services for a member of the pupil's family.
Anaheim High School's attendance policies emphasize the need for responsibility on the part of both the student and the parent.
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
- When your son/ daughter is to be absent, please notify the school prior to 3:00 p.m. the day of the absence. (714)999-3756
- If the school is not contacted the day of the absence, please send a note with your son/ daughter upon his/ her return to school.
- Each student not called in prior to 3:00 p.m. on the day of the absence must have a class re-admit slip from the Attendance Office immediately after any absence and prior to attending class. Re-admits must be obtained before school from 7:15 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. It is the student's responsibility to obtain the re-admit slip prior to first period.
- Absences must be cleared within 24 hours after the student has returned to school. Absences not cleared within this time will be considered truancies and will be referred to an Assistant Principal.
